Offline Solitaire Games
Solitaire is the ideal offline game because it has no opponent to disconnect from — once the page has loaded, the whole game runs on your own device. Klondike is the familiar one, FreeCell is the one where nearly every deal is winnable, Spider is the hardest, and TriPeaks and Golf are the fastest.

Solitaire is the best-behaved offline game there is. No server, no opponent, no leaderboard that needs syncing — once the cards are on screen, the connection is irrelevant. Load a tab before you get on a plane and it will still be there at the other end.
Klondike — the one you mean by "solitaire"
Klondike is the game that shipped with Windows and taught a generation to use a mouse. Build four foundations by suit from ace to king; stack the tableau downward in alternating colours.
Two things most players get wrong: always take the move that turns over a face-down card ahead of a tidier-looking one, and do not rush low cards to the foundations — you often need them in the tableau. And accept that a meaningful share of Klondike deals cannot be won at all.
FreeCell — the thinking one
FreeCell deals everything face up and gives you four cells to park cards in. Almost every deal is winnable with correct play, which makes it the purest of the variants: a loss is your mistake, not the shuffle's.
The rule that governs it: how many cards you can move at once depends on how many cells are empty. Fill all four and you can move exactly one card. Keep them clear.
Spider — the hard one
Spider asks you to build king-to-ace runs in a single suit. The defining rule is that you cannot deal from the stock while any column is empty — so empty columns are simultaneously your most valuable resource and something you are forced to spend. Start on one suit; four-suit Spider is a large jump.
The fast ones
- TriPeaks — take any card one rank above or below the open card. Chains are everything; plan the whole run before the first click.
- Golf — the same idea on a flat layout. The fastest solitaire there is.
- Pyramid — arithmetic instead of sequence: remove pairs totalling 13. Kings go alone.
- Yukon — Klondike with everything face up and any group movable. Harder than it sounds.
