List of Google Doodle Games

Google has published dozens of playable Doodle games since Pac-Man in 2010. The best of them are Doodle Champion Island (2021), an anime sports RPG with seven events; Magic Cat Academy (2016), where you draw symbols to fight ghosts; Cricket (2017); Baseball (2019); and the interactive Rubik's Cube (2014). All are free and still playable.

Google's doodles started as static drawings and became, occasionally, real games. The playable ones began in 2010 with a fully working Pac-Man built for the game's 30th anniversary — the first doodle anyone could actually play. Google has kept making them since, and keeps them online afterwards.

The ambitious ones

  • Doodle Champion Island (2021) — made for the Tokyo Olympics and by some distance the largest doodle ever built: an anime-styled sports RPG starring Lucky the calico cat, with seven sporting events, side quests and an island to explore.
  • Magic Cat Academy (2016) — the best pure game of the set. You play Momo, a cat fighting ghosts through a school by drawing the symbol that appears above each one. It escalates properly and ends with a real boss fight.
  • Rubik's Cube (2014) — a fully interactive 3D cube for the puzzle's 40th anniversary, and one of the more technically impressive doodles.

The sports doodles

  • Cricket (2017) — crickets batting against snails, built for the ICC Champions Trophy. One button, and genuinely charming.
  • Baseball (2019) — the Fourth of July doodle, with peanuts and hot dogs at bat.

The rest worth playing

  • Halloween Pac-Man — the Pac-Man doodle in its spooky edition.
  • Scoville (2016) — throw ice cream at advancing chillies, built for Wilbur Scoville's 151st birthday. It teaches you the Scoville scale as you go.
  • Santa Tracker — Google's annual Christmas village of mini-games.
