Moto X3M Winter is the fourth game in the series and the one covered in snow. The formula is unchanged — reach the flag as fast as possible, flip in the air to shave seconds off the clock, and try not to land on your head — but the levels are built out of ice, presents, giant snowmen and Christmas lights, and the ice itself makes the bike slide in ways the original never did.

It's usually considered one of the better entries: the festive levels are more inventive than the base game's, and the traps are more theatrical. Twenty-five levels, three stars each, the same two-key controls.

1. Ride to the finish flag as quickly as you can.
2. Lean in the air to control your rotation and land on both wheels.
3. Every completed flip subtracts time from your final clock.
4. Crashes reset you to the last checkpoint, costing seconds rather than the run.
5. Beat the target time for three stars.

Moto X3M Winter tips

• Ice carries you further than dirt — brake earlier before the traps than you would in the original.
• Back-flips land rear-wheel-first, which the game forgives; front-flips are riskier on slippery landings.
• Learn the level clean first, then add flips on the safe jumps only.
• Checkpoints are generous here. Attack the section after one rather than creeping through it.
