Speed Stars is a running game about rhythm. Your sprinter's legs are on two keys: press them alternately to run, and the more even your rhythm, the faster you go. Mash and you stumble; find the tempo and you fly. Races are the 100m, 200m and 400m, against the clock, a ghost of your best run, and other players' times.
It looks simple and it is genuinely skill-based — the difference between a 12-second and a 9-second 100m is entirely in the player's hands. Runs take seconds, restarts are instant, and the leaderboard is the reason people keep pressing two keys for hours.
Rhythm, not speed. Alternate the two keys as evenly as possible; the runner's pace rises with consistency. Mashing causes stumbles that cost more than a slow, steady rhythm ever would.
Under 11 seconds is solid; under 10 is very good; the best players are in the low 9s, which takes a near-metronomic rhythm.
Yes — it is a light 3D game that runs in the browser with two keys and nothing to install.
