About Doodle Jump

Doodle Jump is the game that defined the early iPhone: a four-legged scribble bounces upward from platform to platform, forever, and you steer it left and right. Platforms break, move or vanish; monsters and black holes appear; springs and jetpacks launch you skyward. Lima Sky released it in 2009 and it became one of the first mobile games to sell millions.

In the browser the tilt control becomes the arrow keys, and everything else is intact: the graph-paper look, the endless tower, the height counter that is your only score. Runs last a minute or two, and the leaderboard is a number that everyone understands immediately.

How to play Doodle Jump

Move
← → or A / D
Shoot
Space or click (at monsters)
Restart
Click after falling
  1. The Doodler bounces automatically when it lands on a platform. Steer it onto the next one.
  2. Green platforms are solid; blue ones move; brown ones break; white ones vanish after one bounce.
  3. Springs, trampolines, propeller hats and jetpacks launch you higher.
  4. Monsters and black holes end the run on contact — shoot monsters or steer around them.
  5. Falling off the bottom of the screen ends the game. Height is your score.

Doodle Jump tips

  • The screen wraps: go off the left edge and you appear on the right. Use it for platforms across the screen.
  • Don't chase springs on breaking platforms — a broken platform is a fall.
  • Shoot monsters early; the bullet travels straight up.
  • Higher up, platforms get sparser. Pick the safest reachable platform, not the highest.

Doodle Jump — questions

Does Doodle Jump have an end?

No. The tower is endless; the platforms get sparser and the monsters more frequent the higher you go. Your score is how high you got.

How do you control Doodle Jump without tilting?

In the browser, the arrow keys (or A/D) replace tilting. Everything else works the same way as on a phone.

Does Doodle Jump work on a Chromebook?

Yes. It is a very light 2D game with arrow-key controls that runs in the browser with nothing to install.
