This is Klondike as most people know it, with the options that decide how hard it actually is. Draw one card at a time and most deals are winnable; draw three and the game becomes considerably harder because you can only reach every third card in the stock.

Everything else is the classic: four foundations built up in suit from ace to king, a tableau built down in alternating colours, and kings only into empty columns.

Choose draw count and difficulty before starting

1. Choose one-, two- or three-card draw and a difficulty.
2. Build foundations up in suit from ace to king.
3. Build the tableau down in alternating colours; move ordered runs together.
4. Only kings can fill an empty column.
5. Clear all 52 cards to win.

Amazing Klondike Solitaire tips

• Turn over face-down cards before anything else — hidden cards are unavailable moves.
• Don't send low cards to the foundation too early; you may need them in the tableau.
• Empty a column only when a king is ready for it.
• In three-card draw, count the stock so you know when a needed card comes round again.
