About Text Twist

Text Twist gives you six scrambled letters and about two minutes. Make as many words as you can from them — three letters and up — and find the six-letter word that uses all of them, or the game ends when the timer does. Twist shuffles the letters when you're stuck. It is the word game people who like word games actually play, and it has been on the web since 2001.

This page runs a browser version with the classic timed mode: score for every word, a bonus for the full anagram, and rounds that keep going for as long as you keep solving.

You can also click letters in order

1. Six letters appear scrambled. Type words made from them and press Enter.
2. Every valid word scores; longer words score more.
3. Find at least one word that uses all six letters to unlock the next round.
4. The timer ends the round. If you found a six-letter word, you continue; if not, the game is over.

Text Twist tips

• Look for the six-letter word first — it's the one that matters for continuing.
• Press Twist repeatedly. Seeing the letters in a new order is how the brain finds anagrams.
• Common endings: S, ED, ER, ING. Take every word you find and add an S.
• Three-letter words are quick points once the big one is found.
