New Year Balls Merge is a drop-and-merge puzzle in the Suika (watermelon game) mould, dressed for the new year: balls fall into a container, two of the same colour combine into a bigger one, and the biggest ball of all disappears for maximum points.
The fail condition is the line at the top — if a ball rests on it too long, the run ends — so it's a game about keeping the pile low rather than simply merging a lot.
