About Impossible Quiz

The Impossible Quiz is 110 questions where the obvious answer is wrong. 'How many holes in a polo?' The answer is 4 (the letters). Some questions want you to click the question itself; some want you to do nothing; one wants you to drag the word 'the' out of the sentence. You have three lives and a few skips, and the game is famous for a question that resets you to the start if you use a skip on it.

Splapp-Me-Do released it in 2007 and it became one of the defining Flash games of the era. Flash is gone, so this page runs it through a browser Flash emulator — the original file, the original questions, the original unfairness.

Bombs
Some questions have a timer — answer before it hits zero
  1. Read every question twice. The trick is usually in the wording.
  2. Wrong answers cost a life. Three wrong answers and you start over.
  3. Skips let you pass a question, but a few questions must be answered — using a skip on them is fatal.
  4. Bomb questions have a countdown; a timeout costs a life.
  5. Reach question 110 and finish it to win.

Impossible Quiz tips

  • Hover before you click. Some answers move, and some questions respond to the cursor.
  • Save skips for the maze questions and the ones with a bomb you can't read in time.
  • The 'kill screen' at question 110 needs all your skips — don't arrive with none.
  • Write down the answers. Nobody finishes it in one go, and the questions are the same every time.

Impossible Quiz — questions

How does The Impossible Quiz work without Flash?

It runs through a browser Flash emulator that plays the original file. Everything is the original game; some questions that relied on quirks of the old Flash player may behave slightly differently.

How many questions are in The Impossible Quiz?

110. You need to reach and complete the last one — with skips in hand — to finish.

Does The Impossible Quiz work on a Chromebook?

Yes, through the emulator, with a mouse or trackpad. It runs in the browser with nothing to install; give it a moment to load the first time.
