About Car Visualizer

Car Visualizer isn't a game so much as a demonstration of what a browser can render: a detailed 3D car you can orbit, zoom and re-colour in real time, with reflections and lighting that respond as you move.

It's built with Three.js, the WebGL library behind a lot of the 3D you see on the web, and it's genuinely satisfying to play with — the kind of thing that used to require dedicated software.

Car Visualizer tips

  • Try a metallic paint and orbit slowly; the reflections are the point of the demo.
  • Zoom right in on the wheels and lights to see the model detail.
  • It's a good frame-rate test for a Chromebook.

Car Visualizer — questions

Is Car Visualizer a game?

No — it's an interactive 3D viewer built with Three.js. You rotate, zoom and re-colour a car model rather than playing toward a goal.

What is Three.js?

The most widely used JavaScript library for 3D graphics in the browser, built on WebGL. A lot of the 3D games and demos on this site use it.

Does it work on a Chromebook?

Yes, though it's a real-time 3D render — older hardware will show a lower frame rate.
