About 8 Ball Pool

8 Ball Pool is Miniclip's pool game, the most-played pool game in the world, in its browser form. Aim the cue with the mouse, drag for power, apply spin, and play standard eight-ball: pot all of your group (solids or stripes), then the 8, without scratching. Matches are one-on-one against other players, with coins on the line, and the physics are good enough that real pool skills carry over.

This is the web version of the game, so it plays directly in the browser with nothing to install; signing in with a Miniclip account carries your coins and cues across devices, but a guest can play immediately.

How to play 8 Ball Pool

Aim

Move the mouse around the cue ball

Power

Click and drag the power bar (or drag the cue back)

Spin

Click the cue-ball icon and set the contact point

Shoot

Release

1. Break, then pot a ball to claim solids or stripes.
2. Pot all seven of your group, then the 8 ball in a called pocket to win.
3. Scratching (potting the cue ball) or potting the 8 early loses the frame or gives ball-in-hand.
4. Each match has a shot clock; run out of time and you forfeit the shot.

8 Ball Pool tips

• Use the guide line: it shows where the object ball goes. Aim for the pocket, then adjust for spin.
• Less power, more accuracy. Most missed pots are from shooting too hard.
• Plan the next shot: leave the cue ball where the next pot is easy, using top or back spin.
• Don't pot your last ball if the 8 isn't reachable; leave it as a blocker.
