About Subway Surf

Subway Surfers is the endless runner that has been on every phone since 2012: Jake sprays graffiti on a train, the inspector and his dog give chase, and you run down the tracks dodging trains and barriers, collecting coins, jetpacks, magnets and hoverboards. Kiloo and SYBO built it, and it has been downloaded more times than almost any game ever made.

The browser version replaces swipes with the arrow keys and keeps everything else — the three lanes, the power-ups, the rising speed, the missions. It's the version people play on a laptop at school, and the arrow-key control is arguably more precise than a thumb.

  1. Jake runs automatically. Switch lanes to avoid trains and barriers; jump over low ones; roll under signs.
  2. Collect coins for the shop and power-ups on the track: jetpack (fly), magnet (pull coins), super sneakers (high jumps), 2x multiplier.
  3. Run on top of trains when the ground is blocked.
  4. One crash ends the run — unless a hoverboard is active, which absorbs it.

Subway Surf tips

  • Jump onto trains early and stay up there; the roofs have fewer obstacles and more coins.
  • Hold a lane change for a moment before a fast train: the game registers the input slightly ahead.
  • Activate a hoverboard before risky sections, not after you've crashed.
  • Spend coins on the multiplier upgrades before characters; score is what unlocks missions.

Subway Surf — questions

Can you play Subway Surfers on a computer?

Yes — this page runs it in the browser with the arrow keys replacing swipes. Nothing to install, and it works on Chromebooks and laptops.

What is a good score in Subway Surfers?

100,000 is a good run for a new player, a million is strong, and multi-million scores come from stacking multiplier upgrades with long runs on the train roofs.

Does Subway Surfers work on a school Chromebook?

Yes. It is a light 3D game that runs in the browser with nothing to install, and it plays well with arrow keys.
