About Game of the Goose

The Game of the Goose is one of the oldest commercial board games in Europe, dating to the sixteenth century — a spiral track of 63 squares, dice to move, and squares that help or hinder you. Landing on a goose sends you forward again; landing on the well or the prison traps you until someone frees you.

It's pure chance with no decisions at all, which is exactly why it survived for four centuries as a family game: everyone can play, and nobody can be blamed for losing.

Game of the Goose tips
