About 1v1.LOL

1v1.LOL is the browser game that distilled Fortnite's building into a duel. You have a shotgun, an assault rifle, a pickaxe and four build pieces — wall, ramp, floor, cone — and an opponent who has the same. Whoever builds faster and shoots straighter wins. Matches last a minute or two, there is no account required, and it runs on a school Chromebook, which is how it became one of the most-played browser games of its era.

Beyond the headline 1v1 mode there's Box Fight, Battle Royale, and JustBuild — a free-build practice mode with no enemies that players use to drill build edits. The building is faithful enough to Fortnite that skills transfer both ways, and that is the game's whole pitch.

  1. Pick a mode. 1v1 matches you with one opponent; Box Fight is close quarters; Battle Royale is last-egg-standing; JustBuild is practice.
  2. Build with Z/X/C/V: walls block shots, ramps get you height, floors and cones close gaps. Pieces place where you're looking.
  3. Edit your builds (F) to open windows and doors for shots.
  4. Shotgun up close, rifle at range, pickaxe to break enemy builds. Health and shield are shown at the bottom.
  5. Win by eliminating the opponent; matches rotate quickly.

1v1.LOL tips

  • Ramp-wall-ramp: the basic 'high ground' combo. Ramp up, wall in front, ramp again. Practise it in JustBuild until it's automatic.
  • Never fight on the ground. Height wins almost every exchange.
  • Edit-shoot-reset: open a window in your wall, shoot, close it. Sitting in an open window is how you lose.
  • Rebind Z/X/C/V to keys near WASD if the defaults feel slow — the settings allow it.

1v1.LOL — questions

Do I need an account to play 1v1.LOL?

No. You can play every mode as a guest. An account saves cosmetics and stats but changes nothing about the gameplay.

Is 1v1.LOL the same as Fortnite?

It borrows Fortnite's building — the same four pieces and editing — in a much smaller, browser-based game focused on duels. Players use it to practise building for Fortnite, and the skills carry across.

Does 1v1.LOL work on a school Chromebook?

Yes. It is built for the browser and runs on Chromebooks with nothing to install. It needs a live connection for matches; a mouse makes a big difference.
