About YoHoHo.io

YoHoHo.io is a battle royale played from above with a cutlass. You wash up on a shrinking tropical island alongside a few dozen other pirates, eat food to grow bigger and stronger, and knock rivals off the island by charging at them — a bigger pirate wins the collision, and a smaller one goes flying into the sea.

The shrinking play area forces everyone together, so a careful start still ends in a scrap. It is fast, has no account requirement, and a round takes a few minutes, which is why it became one of the most-played .io games on school laptops.

1. Land on the island and eat the food scattered around to grow.
2. Charge into other pirates — size and momentum decide who is knocked back.
3. The safe area shrinks over time, pushing survivors together.
4. Be the last pirate on the island to win the round.

YoHoHo.io tips

• Feed first, fight later. An early scrap at small size loses to anyone who spent thirty seconds eating.
• Attack from behind or from the side; a head-on charge against an equal size just bounces.
• Use the water's edge — knocking someone into the sea does not require winning a long fight.
• Watch the shrinking circle and take the centre before it closes, not after.
