5Roll is the classic five-dice scoring game — the family of games Yahtzee belongs to. You roll five dice, keep the ones you want, re-roll the rest up to twice more, and then score the result in one of the categories on your card: three of a kind, full house, straight, and so on.
The skill is entirely in which category to spend a mediocre roll on. Every category can only be used once, so a bad roll has to go somewhere — and choosing which score to sacrifice is the whole game.
Roll five dice, hold the ones you want, and re-roll the rest up to twice. Then score the result in one of the categories on your card — each of which can only be used once.
Pursue the high-scoring categories early, while you still have low-value slots to absorb a bad roll. Late in the game a poor roll has nowhere cheap to go.
